Okay, so my turnover days fall on Wednesdays. Which means Wednesday is the start of my new week. And the day my 25th week started, I had a doctor's appointment that was non-pregnancy related. Remember back in the day before I got prego? I was dealing with thyroid issues. Not sure if I went into detail about it in the past but long story short, I found a lump in my neck. Turned out to be nodules. After about almost a year of testing (3 tests to be exact because the first 2 were inconclusive) it turned out to be benign. But for some odd reason, with both pregnancies, they've grown. And then I have to go in for biopsies to check it all out again. I've been told that benign nodules rarely turn malignant but it's still better to check things out anyway. It's a little scary to think about cancer when you're pregnant, but I'm always doing my best to stay positive. Anyway, I won't get the results for probably another week or 2 so I'll keep you updated on that.

That same day, I also went in to get blood work done. It's glucose time again! Yup, drinking that yucky orange stuff and getting poked is never any fun but it comes with being prego. I mean, this stuff is the easy stuff, right? When you're comparing it to childbirth and parenting... it's a piece of cake!!!

And the results? Well... let's just say the numbers didn't quite fall in the "standard range." My test results online shows that my numbers are a little bit higher than the normal bracket. But it could also be because I seriously forgot I had planned to take the glucose test and wasn't thinking (pregnancy brain at its best) and I did not eat my best that day. After my thyroid appointment, I indulged a little and had some yummy Mexican food. And, don't ask me why, but I also had some soda. I'm not much of a soda drinker...but Baby P wanted soda. So she got soda. And by the time I remembered about the glucose test, it was too late. I had already consumed it. Now, you're probably thinkin' "why in the world did you not fast for this test?" Well, my doctor said it wasn't required for this 1-hour test and actually encouraged I eat as normal. So anyway, I'm blaming the high sugar levels on the soda and I'm hoping and praying it really isn't gestational diabetes. I will need to go in for the 3-hour test to confirm for sure. Yuck. Not looking forward to it AT ALL.

*sigh*

Okay, onto my weekly update...

25 Weeks

If you're wondering why my lil photobomber isn't in the pic with me, it's because she went off to spend the next 2 weeks with her grandma. And I'm not gonna apologize for looking yucky in these photos. Taking my update photos aren't high up on my priority list most days so I usually end up taking them when I'm in between chores or when I'm about to start getting ready for bed. So there. That's my story.

What is up with Baby P #2 this week?

  • Baby P #2 is now about 13 1/2 inches and weighs about 1 1/2 lbs. She's about the size of a rutabaga or a cauliflower.

  • She's starting to gain some baby fat, and her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and start to look more and more like a newborn.

  • She's also growing more hair

What's been happening with ME this week?

Weight Gained: When they checked my weight at my thyroid appointment, I think I gained ounces. Can't recall the exact number but it was close enough to a pound from my prenatal appointment the week before.

Workouts: I intended to work out but I have been so tired and busy that I just could not muster up the energy to do a dang thing.

Symptoms:

  • Lower Backache - especially from sitting in traffic

  • Frequent trips to the bathroom.

  • Lots of bloating happening

  • Major mood swings

  • Mild heartburn

Food Aversions: none

Food Cravings: uh, the obvious as mentioned in my little story at the start of this post... soda! I was also craving my fave pastry from Starbucks - the cinnamon swirl coffee cake. But the Starbucks at work was out of it all week. Made me sad. But then towards the weekend, I started to crave fruit. Ice cold fruit. So we bought some grapefruit. And pineapple. Which I plan to have with some cottage cheese. Mmmmm.

Sleep: It wasn't the greatest but I can't complain. Any sleep is better than no sleep, right? The hubby graduated over the weekend and then Ella left to go spend the next 2 weeks with her grandma up in Tahoe, so we weren't able to sleep in like we normally would. But hey, we got to sleep a little.

Any Baby/Pregnancy-Related Purchases? I bought a new top. For me. But it made me look like a whale. In pictures. I thought I looked fine in the mirror but once the pictures surfaced, I was not very pleased with how big I looked.

Stretch Marks: no new ones have appeared...but I fear it may happen soon. The area around my belly button is starting to itch. No bueno.

Miss Anything?: After seeing how big I look and hearing people say how pregnant I look... I'm really missing being in shape and looking cute in anything I wear. *sigh* One day....

Belly Button In or Out? OUT

Wedding Rings On or Off? On!

Happy or Moody Most Of The Time? Moody. Definitely moody. Maybe because the weather's getting hot? Who knows. I just know that everyone has been getting on my damn nerves. And I mean EVERYONE.

Any Movement? Yep. All the time.

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the Week? Hubby graduated! Last time I was pregnant, he received his Bachelor's. This time? His Master's Degree. Super proud wifey over here!!!

We thought it would be cute to try and re-create the pose we took 2 years ago at the hubby's Bachelor's graduation ceremony. And we really did try. But Ella wasn't exactly interested in cooperating with us in this moment. So this is the best we could do.

Looking Forward To? Since the baby is away, I'm looking forward to nesting as much as I can. Decluttering our space, organizing, and just getting ready for Baby P #2. I'm hoping to maybe even start planning the baby shower... we'll see.

Whoa. 8 more weeks left. I remember when I was only 8 weeks prego and thinking I dunno if I can wait till July. And here we are... 8 weeks left. Wowza. In about 5-8 weeks (maybe longer) I will officially be someone's mommy. And that thought just makes me smile.

So here we go... 32 week baby bump...

Now hold up. I don't think you know how big the belly has grown...

A couple of weeks ago it was a basketball. This week it's a watermelon ;-)

What Is Baby P Up To This Week

  • Baby P is now the size of a jicama!!! (Yeah, go ahead and google it. I know I had to:-P)

  • She weights about 3.75lbs and measures approximately 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in my uterus.

  • I'm gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of it goes right to Baby - in fact, Baby P will gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb.

  • Baby P now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair.

  • Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth

What's Been Happening With Me This Week

Weight Gained: Hoping not more than I'm supposed to. But I have no clue. I don't keep track at home. I am doing my best to eat as healthy as possible so that I only gain what I need to.

Workouts: No comment. :-P

Symptoms:

  • Aches all throughout the body - lower back ache, aches in the ribs, aches in the legs... I never realized all this extra weight would wear me out the way it has.

  • I'm starting to waddle!!!! Yup, especially when I've been running around at work all day.

  • Still exhausted. Still get breathless when walking short distances. Still unable to enjoy eating my normal sized meal without feeling like I ate a cow. I'm just a hot mess.

  • Trips to the potty have increased tremendously during the night AND during the day. And if that's not enough, right after I'm done peeing (TMI but who cares), I feel like I still have to go.

Food Aversions: Not a one.

Food Cravings: Cheetos. Chocolate everything. Watermelon. Pineapple. Any and everything.

Sleep: Pretty good. With the exception of having to get up to pee, I'm sleeping like a baby the rest of time. Laying on my left side wasn't so great in the beginning but now it's not so bad. Especially with my body pillow.

Any Baby/Pregnancy Related Purchases? It was only a matter of time before I splurged on Baby P before the baby shower. Another Baby Sale started in my store this week and I just could not stay away from the Baby department.

Too Freaking ADORABLE!!!

Stretch Marks? Nope! And I hope it stays that way!!!

Miss Anything? Eating like a pig and being able to enjoy eating like a pig. Haha.

Belly Button In or Out? No longer an innie. Not exactly an outtie. All you see is the dark spot where my belly button should be. That and the scar from my belly button ring I had years ago.

Wedding Rings On or Off? Still on!!!!

**So I just realized that the next 2 questions were accidentally left out on my last post and I totally didn't realize it till now.**

Happy or Moody Most of the Time? Definitely HAPPY. Yes I get irritable, but cut me some slack. I'm only human. But I wouldn't trade this experience for the world. I look forward to seeing my baby girl.

Any Movements? She never stops! No, wait, I take that back. She moves all throughout the day. Morning, noon, on my drive home (especially on my drive home), all the way up until it's time to count kicks before my bedtime. And then she'll stop. It's like she's laughing at me from the inside. Already playing jokes on her mama. For the most part, she cooperates. But I guess my hot shower puts her right to sleep.

Looking Forward To: Enjoying every bit of the last 8 weeks. Baby shower. Shopping. Going on maternity leave. Feeling her every move. Nesting. ALL of it.

So, even though my pregnancy news is finally out there, I'm still getting a lot of surprised reactions by people I work with or haven't seen in awhile. I get a lot of "you're so tiny" and "you hid it well". Truth is, I haven't been "hiding" it. I just chose not to broadcast it to people who aren't close to me, to avoid all the unsolicited advice since this is my first pregnancy. And at work, I wear a lot of black and I didn't really start showing until almost about 20 weeks so it was easy to miss. But everyone's excited for me and I couldn't be happier at this point in my life. I am very grateful for all the wonderful support from family and friends and cannot wait to share the rest of this pregnancy with everyone.

With that said...here are some questions I've had to answer since making the "big announcement."

How did you find out you were pregnant? I took a home pregnancy test.

What kind of Pregnancy test did you take?

Honestly? A cheap one I picked up from the 99cent Store awhile back. We had already spent a lot on brand name ones (First Response and Clear Blue) on the times we thought we could be pregnant and they can get pretty pricey! And after the cashier from Target told me I'm wasting my money on the expensive brands, and that his girlfriend used the cheap ones from the 99cent Store for all her 5 pregnancies and all worked fine, I decided I'd try those ones instead in hopes I'll get lucky.

How many? Just one. It was the last one of the batch of like 2 or 3 that I had bought a couple of months prior.

What were your 1st symptoms? Fatigue, VERY sore boobs, and extreme sensitivity to smells. Oh! And the most obvious - I was a week late for my monthly visitor.

Who did you tell first? Baby's Daddy!!!

Who was with you when you found out? I was by myself in the bathroom. Only because I didn't want him to experience another disappointment if the results came back negative. We had just come back from the grocery store and I really had to pee (TMI, I know). So while he was putting the groceries away, I snuck away to the bathroom to do my business. Something told me to just do it. Especially after noticing that the smell of EVERY SINGLE AISLE we went down made me gag. I just thought it was weird. So I did it.

My 1st reaction? I stood there and waited for the lines to appear (or not appear). And when I saw the 2 lines, I was like "NO FREAKIN' WAY!" But I couldn't help but feel excited at the same time. Especially after having seen so many negative tests in the past, FINALLY seeing the positive was just awesome.

Was your baby planned? Heck yes!

How far were you when you found out? I took the test on Sunday November 9th... so about 5 1/2 weeks.

How did your parents/family react? They were thrilled! Like I said, we waited till the end of the 1st trimester to finally tell our families. He and I are the last ones in both of our families to have kids so everyone's been impatiently waiting for us to finally give them a niece/nephew/grandson/granddaughter.

How did you tell your friends? some friends were told in the same fashion as the video shown above... I just haven't had the chance to edit the video clips into a montage. Others, we just texted them the video and also posted it onto our social media accounts.

DETAILS ON BABY PEEDEN

Due Date: July 9, 2015

Do you know the sex? yup! (And I will announce it in a future post!)

Any names? Of course! We've had names picked out for years.

Were you trying long? Almost a year.

Any Ultrasounds? Yes! from my first prenatal appointment, from Part 1 of the NIPT screening, and then the extensive one at 20 weeks where we were able to find out baby's gender.

First Prenatal Appointment @ almost 11 weeks

Part 1 NIPT screening @ 12 weeks

Have you heard the heart beat? Ohhh yes! And I love hearing it every single time I go to the doctor.

Who do you think it will look like? This one's a hard one. Our Haole-pino baby will definitely be a mix. Daddy-to-be is a mixture of all kinds of stuff - German, Native American, Irish, Lithuanian, to name a few. And I'm Filipino. Maybe some Spanish but I don't know for sure. So we're thinkin' baby will be fair-complected (lighter than me, of course) with dark features: hair and eyes. This is just my guess.

Will the baby have siblings? Future siblings? Maybe 1. Or 2. We'll see. Right now, our furbaby Tipsy will be the only sibling.

Have you felt the baby move? yes! ALL the time! And it is the most amazing feeling EVER!!! We even got to see baby kick/punch the other night. Nothing crazy, like hands, elbows, or feet. But still so very cool.

MISCELLANEOUS

How do you feel? I feel GREAT!!!! Still very tired, but so worth it.

Do you have morning sickness? Nope. Was lucky enough not to have it.

Do you have any cravings? Not anything in particular. Sometimes I'll crave random sweets. Sometimes salty. Nothing crazy. The constant cravings I get, but won't give in to, is Deep Fried Chicken. Yeah... that's a lot of grease. Gonna try to hold out for as long as I can. Right this second though? I'm craving some watermelon.

Do you have any food aversions? I did in the beginning. I couldn't stand my usual healthy foods. I had to force myself to eat my salads.

Do you have any mood swings? Gotta love those pregnancy hormones!!! For the most part, I have been cool as a cucumber. Lovin' this whole entire experience and have been told I have that "pregnancy glow". BUT, occasionally I'll go from one extreme to the next. I'd start stupid arguments for no reason to crying over spilled milk in a matter of minutes. I noticed my road rage has gotten worse. But can you blame me? My commute to and from work is just plain HORRIBLE!!!!

How far along are you now? 25 weeks and 3 days - here are my weekly baby bump pics.
