About The Blogger

Hi! I’m Jane, a mom + lifestyle blogger behind That Plain Jane Life. I live in Southern California with my husband, our 2 sweet little girls and our newest fur baby Dash. (Our old fur baby Tipsy passed in 2022 and we miss her so much.) I was born and raised in Hawaii and moved to California after I graduated from high school to live the College Life at Chapman University in Orange County. I met my husband Daniel at the start of my junior year and we dated for 8 years before finally tying the knot on a private beach in Hawaii in March 2009. We enjoyed Married Life for 6 years before we became parents to Ella in June 2015. And now we’re livin’ the ever so wonderful Parent Life of 2 girls, having welcomed our second daughter Everly in September 2017.

The Story Behind That Plain Jane Life

I graduated from Chapman University with a BA in Film Production, emphasis in Screenwriting. However, I never made it in the film industry. Instead, I built a career in fashion visual merchandising in the retail world.

Back in 2012, I started my blog Fab . Fit . Me as a hobby to document my journey through my life with a huge focus on fitness. It started off as more of an online journal for me - to keep track of life as it happened. In 2014 I sorta took a hiatus from blogging because life happened, but started up again after I became pregnant with my firstborn.

My life has changed and evolved so much after having kids that I felt like I’ve outgrown Fab . Fit . Me. So instead of revamping Fab . Fit . Me, I decided a fresh new start would be best. And that’s when That Plain Jane Life was created.

About The Blog

That Plain Jane Life is about all things motherhood. It's also about my love for fitness, sharing all that brings me joy and, most of all, it's just about my real life. Mom Life is a full time job. Yes it is beautiful, amazing, fun and everything good. But it's also exhausting, frustrating and can be so dang overwhelming at times. I want this blog to serve as an outlet for myself as well as other moms out there to share our experiences, thoughts, and stories of real mom moments.

So... pour yourself a cup of coffee (or glass of wine), I hope you'll stay awhile and enjoy the stories! If you have any questions, comments or have a story to share drop me a line and let's chat!
